Our Team
Joseph is responsible for development of Hawkes Bay Underwriting in Asia. He has more than 25 years of underwriting experience and portfolio management in international markets with major international insurers and reinsurers. He joined the Company in September 2012 after he worked for Berkley Re Asia as a Vice President and Head of Casualty for underwriting and managing the treaty and facultative portfolio in Asia.
Previously, he worked for Swiss Re as Senior Underwriter for Casualty overseeing the market for North Asia with technical referral and underwriting responsibilities. Joseph also has worked with ACE and was subsequently appointed as Casualty Underwriting Manager. Joseph has successfully built up a high quality casualty book with a track record of delivering profitable results as well as developing long term relationship with clients all throughout the Asia Pacific.

Elsa is a well-qualified Certified Public Accountant, including a fellow member of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the United Kingdom, a fellow member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and an associate member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is responsible for the Group’s overall finance, operations and compliance functions.
With several professional and competent senior management careers in excess of 26 years, Elsa has proven and strong experience in general and operations management, corporate finance and restructuring, audit and tax compliance, accounting, treasury, receiverships and company secretarial experience in Hong Kong, the Mainland China, the United Kingdom and the United States. She has a wide spectrum of experience in different fields including Ernst & Young, the Government of the HKSAR, a Multi-national trading and manufacturing company.

Ronald started his career in insurance since 1991 in the Winterthur Asia Ltd. In 1992 he moved to the Aon HK (formerly known as Heath Hudig) as a broker placing insurance into global market strengthened in Casualty non-financial lines. He also had responsibility for running the US Exports Products Liability Scheme for various major international vendors and had run very profitably for a period of over 10 years, mostly was under Ronald’s tenure. He has more than 20 years of (re)insurance and risk management experience in Greater China and Korean markets.
Ronald joined Hawkes Bay Underwriting in 2012 and responsible for the underwriting and portfolio management of general liability and financial lines. His extensive experience in marketing and recognized technical knowledge where he was get promoted to the position of Casualty Underwriting Manager in 2017 and Head of Casualty and Financial Lines in 2024.

Louis is a seasoned marine insurance specialist with a remarkable 30-year career that showcases his expertise and leadership in the field. His journey began in 1993 at Bank of China Insurance, where he embarked on his underwriting career. Over twelve years, Louis successfully led the marine division, transforming it into a major player in the local market. Additionally, Louis’s expertise and industry insight earned him a position as a committee member of the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers, where he represented the industry in communications with regulatory bodies.
After his impactful tenure at Bank of China Insurance, Louis joined QBE, where he was responsible for overseeing international business conducted by major brokers. This role allowed him to expand his expertise in managing complex international portfolios. Louis’s career reached new heights at Marsh, where he served as AVP of the marine team. In this capacity, he managed a substantial portfolio encompassing marine cargo, hull, and marine liability business, demonstrating his ability to drive growth and deliver exceptional results. .
Before his current role at Hawkes Bay, Louis was the general manager of a local Insurtech broker, where he focused on developing the marine broking business. His role involved leveraging technology and innovation to drive business growth and enhance service delivery.
